FUTURE ROOTS PROGRESS TO DATE ...
September 2005 - a questionnaire was sent out to various people asking them about their housing needs, self-build ideas, etc.
16th October 2005 - a meeting was held in a village hall attended by about 20 people who had the opportunity to discuss the responses on the questionnaire, meet others and share ideas.
November 2005 - a summary of the meeting and possible self-build scenarios sent out to all those who attended.
11th December 2005 - another meeting held in the village hall to discuss the different scenarios..
February 2006 - first meeting of a small group with similar aims and ideas that rose from the general meetings. This group decided to become a housing co-operative under the name 'Future Roots'.
April/May 2006 - official registration of 'Future Roots Housing Co-operative Ltd' with Catalyst Collective and the Financial Services Authority.
June 2006 - attended the Bath and West Show, exhibiting a scale model of the potential housing units and information to raise public awareness and support.
July 2006 - we all attended a workshop run by 'Seeds for Change' to help the group understand consensus decision making and facilitation of meetings.
August 2006
Attended the Big Green Gathering and Stock Gaylard Oak Fair for publicity.
Article about 'Future Roots' published in 'The Land' magazine.
October 2006 - Articles printed in 'The Mendip Times' and 'Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development' newsletter.
November/December 2006 - making a move to contact people on the waiting list to bring in new members.
Website design underway.

16th/17th February 2007 - exhibited at the 'Homes for Good Fair', hosted by Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development, at the Winter Gardens, Weston-super-mare
